The 3 day tour is definitely worth it imo. You can book it directly in La Paz, just ask for an English speaking guide. Keep in mind it's Bolivia: From La Paz to Uyuni I'm considering either to fly to Uyuni and book a day tour to see the salt flats, or take an overnight bus but I have a few concerns with either method.
